Experience CoVA Karate Before You Decide

Starting martial arts should not require you to make a decision before you understand what you are joining.

At CoVA Karate, prospective students have two ways to experience our regular adult training environment before enrolling in the quarterly program.

You can begin with a 1-Day Free Evaluation or spend more time evaluating the program through our 2-Week Audit for $50.

Both options allow you to experience CoVA Karate as it is actually taught—not through a sales presentation or a separate introductory class.

Choose How You Want to Start

1-Day Free Evaluation

One class. No cost.

Come into a regularly scheduled CoVA Karate class and experience the training for yourself.

Meet the instructors, participate in the class, see how we teach, and get a feel for the dojo environment.

If one class gives you enough information to make a decision, you may enroll directly into the quarterly program.

2-Week Audit

Up to four classes over two weeks • $50

The audit is designed for adults who want more time inside the program before deciding whether CoVA Karate is the right fit.

Attend regular classes, observe how the training develops from session to session, ask questions, and participate at a level appropriate for your experience.

At the end of the audit, you decide whether you want to continue as a regular CoVA Karate student.

What Are You Actually Auditing?

You are not auditing a demonstration class created specifically for prospective students.

You are entering the same adult training environment our students use each week.

Depending on the class, that may include foundational movement, Okinawan Shorin-ryu karate, kata, partner training, practical application, body mechanics, mobility, coordination, timing, balance, and conditioning.

The goal is not for you to become proficient in two weeks.

The goal is for you to understand what we do, how we teach it, and whether you want to continue learning it.

Watch First or Step Onto the Floor

Some adults want to participate immediately. Others prefer to watch a class first and understand the environment before joining in.

Both are acceptable.

You are welcome to observe how the instructors teach, how students interact, how the class is structured, and what the training actually looks like.

When you are ready, you can step onto the floor and experience the training yourself.

Try It. Audit It. Join It.

There is no complicated enrollment process.

1. Try It

Begin with your 1-Day Free Evaluation.

2. Audit It

If you want more time to evaluate the program, choose the 2-Week Audit for $50.

3. Join It

When you know CoVA Karate is right for you, enroll in the regular quarterly program.

You do not have to complete every step. If you know after your first class that you want to continue, you may enroll directly.

You Do Not Need Martial Arts Experience

CoVA Karate is designed primarily for adults and serious teens who want a focused, mature place to train.

Students come to us with different backgrounds and different goals.

Some want better mobility, balance, coordination, or physical capability. Some are interested in traditional karate and kata. Others want practical self-defense skills, stress relief, structure, or simply a meaningful way to stay physically engaged as they get older.

You are not expected to arrive already flexible, coordinated, athletic, or experienced.

Those qualities are developed through training.

Adult Training Without the Performance Mentality

CoVA Karate is not built around tournaments, flashy demonstrations, or rushing students toward the next belt.

We study movement in the context of karate.

That means developing posture, balance, timing, coordination, breathing, structure, body awareness, adaptability, and practical application.

Kata provides an important framework for that study, but students also work with other people so the movement can be understood in context.

Structure first. Adaptation second.

Why We Offer an Audit

Martial arts schools can look very similar from the outside while being very different once you step onto the training floor.

Teaching style matters. Class culture matters. Training partners matter. The way movement is explained matters.

A website can introduce those ideas, but it cannot fully show you what it feels like to train here.

The audit gives you enough time to make a more informed decision.

Come see how we train. Then decide.
