1. Audit It
Attend up to four regular classes over two weeks for $50. Experience the instruction, movement, training partners, and class environment for yourself.
Starting martial arts should not require you to make a decision before you understand what you are joining.
The CoVA Karate Two-Week Audit gives you time inside our regular adult training environment before deciding whether to enroll in the quarterly program.
$50 • Up to four regular classes over two weeks
If you continue as a regular CoVA Karate student, the full $50 audit fee is credited toward your first quarterly tuition.
This is not a sales presentation or a separate introductory class. You train in the same environment, with the same instructors and students, that you would experience after enrolling.
Up to four regular classes over two weeks.
The audit is designed for adults who want enough time to understand how CoVA Karate is taught before deciding whether it is the right fit.
Attend regular Tuesday and Thursday classes, observe how the training develops from session to session, ask questions, and participate at a level appropriate for your experience.
At the end of the two weeks, you decide whether you want to continue. If you enroll, your $50 audit fee is applied to your first quarterly tuition.
Train first. Decide afterward.
You are not auditing a demonstration class created specifically for prospective students.
You are entering the same adult training environment our students use each week.
Depending on the class, that may include foundational movement, Okinawan Shorin-ryu karate, kata, partner training, practical application, body mechanics, mobility, coordination, timing, balance, and conditioning.
The goal is not for you to become proficient in two weeks.
The goal is for you to understand what we do, how we teach it, and whether you want to continue learning it.
Your first visit to CoVA Karate is not a private sales lesson or a separate introductory class.
You step into the regular class, train alongside our students, work on basic kihon, movement, drills, and the foundations of Naihanchi, and experience how we actually teach before deciding whether you want to continue.
Train first. Decide afterward.
Some adults want to participate immediately. Others prefer to watch a class first and understand the environment before joining in.
Both are acceptable.
You are welcome to observe how the instructors teach, how students interact, how the class is structured, and what the training actually looks like.
When you are ready, you can step onto the floor and experience the training yourself.
The process is simple.
Attend up to four regular classes over two weeks for $50. Experience the instruction, movement, training partners, and class environment for yourself.
At the end of the audit, decide whether CoVA Karate is right for you. If you continue, the $50 is credited toward your first quarterly tuition.
There is no long-term contract required to complete the audit and no obligation to enroll afterward.
CoVA Karate is designed primarily for adults who want a focused, mature place to keep developing how they move.
Students come to us with different backgrounds and different goals.
Many come to us because they want to maintain or improve mobility, balance, coordination, body awareness, and physical capability as they get older. Others are interested in traditional Okinawan karate, kata, practical application, structure, or a meaningful way to stay physically engaged.
You are not expected to arrive already flexible, coordinated, athletic, or experienced.
Those qualities are developed through training.
CoVA Karate is not built around tournaments, flashy demonstrations, or rushing students toward the next belt.
We study movement in the context of karate.
That means developing posture, balance, timing, coordination, breathing, structure, body awareness, adaptability, and practical application.
Kata provides an important framework for that study, but students also work with other people so the movement can be understood in context.
Structure first. Adaptation second.
Martial arts schools can look very similar from the outside while being very different once you step onto the training floor.
Teaching style matters. Class culture matters. Training partners matter. The way movement is explained matters.
If you're comparing schools, read our guide to choosing the best martial arts school in Virginia Beach .
A website can introduce those ideas, but it cannot fully show you what it feels like to train here.
The audit gives you enough time to make a more informed decision.
Come see how we train. Then decide.
